COMMERCIAL AUTO COVERAGES

Our primary responsibility to clients is to keep their fleet on the road.

Who Is Covered

The named insured is usually the business. Automatically included as insured's are: employees, owners of borrowed vehicles, anyone using the business auto with permission. A bank or leasing company with an interest in an insured vehicle may be included as an additional insured.

Liability Coverages:

The liability coverage of the commercial auto policy provides protection against legal liability arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of any insured automobile. The insuring agreement agrees to pay damages for bodily injury or property damage for which the insured is legally responsible because of an automobile accident resulting from the ownership, maintenance, or use of the covered auto. It also agrees to defend the insured for all legal defense costs which are in addition to the policy limits.

Medical Payments Coverage - Similar to the coverage of the same name under a general liability policy, auto medical payments is a good will coverage. These payments are made without regard to fault. It offers an opportunity to voluntarily pay medical expenses in the hope of avoiding litigation.

Uninsured Motorist Coverage - Provides for payments of damages due to bodily injury to the insured by an uninsured motorist.

Underinsured Motorist Coverage - Added to supplement the Uninsured Motorist Coverage which applies only when the other driver has liability limits at the time of the accident, but the limits carried are insufficient to pay for bodily injury damages for which the at fault driver is responsible.

Non-Owned Auto - Provides protection for partners, employees, or members of households using the vehicle for your business affairs.

Hired Auto - Coverage is provided only for auto's leased, hired, rented, or borrowed for use in the named insured's business.

Physical Damage Coverages

Collision Coverage - Provides protection against loss or damage to a covered auto resulting from the impact with another vehicle or object. Collision losses can be paid regardless of fault.

Comprehensive Coverage - Provides protection against loss or damage to a covered auto resulting from loss other than a collision or upset. This coverage also provides for supplemental payments for transportation expenses in the event of total theft of a covered auto or a non-owned auto.

Specified Causes of Loss - This provides coverage against loss from fire, lightning, or explosion: theft: windstorm: hail or earthquake: flood: mischief or vandalism: and shrinking, burning, collision or derailment of a conveyance transporting the covered auto.

Hired Auto - Automatically provides for physical damage coverage to any vehicle your business hires or borrows, as long as you have liability coverage on those you hire and physical damage on those you own.
